Bio
From the pioneering heart of 90s Detroit hip hop to Chicago’s underground scene, Joshua Lange has been a tastemaker and sonic architect for decades. As the creator and DJ behind Beats and Breaks—the seminal Detroit radio show that gave first spins to legends like Eminem and J Dilla—Joshua set the stage for a generation of hip hop royalty. After moving to Chicago, he carved out a niche in the import music world while playing bass with local headliners Dead Electric and the queercore powerhouse Super 8 Cumshot. His love for boundary-pushing art extended to co-owning Mystery City Gallery, hosting shows for icons like Frank Kozik and Mark Mothersbaugh, and DJing events for Planned Parenthood. Now, Joshua channels that same energy into Passenger Radio, blending his passion for music with a deep commitment to growth and community. His work continues to bridge the gap between culture and connection, proving that music and the arts can be a powerful force for change.
